Carlos Gonzalo Penela
Carlos Gonzalo holds a PhD in Social Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona and a Diploma in Advanced Studies in ‘Information and Documentation in the Digital Era’ from the University of Barcelona. He has worked as a Senior Information Analyst and Team Leader in the Ask.com search engine, and has been a digital communication consultant at the agency Atrevia and a digital analyst at Penguin Random House. He is currently a professor in the Master in Seekers of Pompeu Fabra University and academic director of the postgraduate course in ‘SEO and Social Media for communicators’ of the Barcelona School of Management. His lines of research are focused on the visibility of content in Google results and especially in political communication during electoral periods. In his most recent research in the group Trademetrics analyzes Google search patterns applicable to various economic sectors, in particular searches related to the wine sector and the visibility of websites in the sector.
